This project is our first adventure with herringbone pattern flooring… which is very time consuming. The tiles were very simple to lay down in a matter of few hours but the parquet took long... Was it worth it? Where are these products from?
It started off with £300 worth of survey equipment that we found on the the attic, that sparked a discussion about replacing our unbelievably squeaky floor on the hallway.
July 2020 before any of the renovation works.
With a limited budget but with expensive parquet ideas we decided to go for inexpensive (considering it’s sold oak not engineered wood) Parquet Oak, unfinished solid wood flooring 21mm thick for £45sqm at DWF. As well as 15x15cm Fowler Petals for £33sqm to match the tiles we have in the bathroom.
We felt like the entrance does need tiles. the mud and water that used to end up on the existing engineered wooden floor would be too painful to watch on a new solid oak flooring.
